Toilets in Sofia are not freely available and mostly not present outside of your hotel rooms, restaurants, bars and all the public places. It is, therefore, advisable to use the toilet before you head out.
There are quite a few public toilets around the city and you can find attached information about them. If you go inside a sweetshop for instance to use the toilet and you are not a customer, in many cases you will have to pay a small fee for the privilege to alleviate yourself. So make sure you have some change, if you are strolling around the city for a longer time, especially with kids, who are very impulsive in this activity.
We wouldn’t be raising the uncomfortable subject; however, being obligated to resist Nature’s call can ruin your brilliant, touristic mood and disappoint you from Sofia’s enchantment. With respect for your immaculate vacation, we advise you to have in mind that in Sofia there is a serious problem with public toilets.
