Bridging Bulgaria and Finland: Sofia Airport Launches Helsinki Route

SOF Connect, the operational force driving Sofia Airport, has unveiled a significant improvement to its flight services through a collaboration with Norwegian Air Shuttle. The latest addition to their route portfolio is a direct link connecting Sofia and Helsinki, a key highlight in the airport's summer schedule for 2024, as officially disclosed by the airport's press center.

Operating twice a week, these flights will seamlessly connect travelers between the Bulgarian capital and the cultural hub of Finland, offering direct access to one of Europe's most vibrant destinations.

"This deliberate inclusion of direct flights to Helsinki aligns with our focused efforts to enhance connectivity and meet the growing demand for travel within the Nordic region. Our aim is to provide passengers with convenient options for both business and leisure travel," stated Jesus Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect.

Renowned as one of Scandinavia's largest airlines and a top 10 player in Europe, Norwegian Air Shuttle has built a reputation for strong operational performance and punctuality, making it one of the continent's most reliable carriers. Following the initiation of its inaugural flights to Sofia Airport from Oslo last summer, the airline will continue its operations to Oslo throughout the upcoming IATA summer season in 2024.

Tickets for the Sofia-Helsinki route are now available for purchase through Norwegian Air Shuttle's extensive distribution network or via the Sofia Airport travel agency.

With the recent announcement of winter charters and preparations for the winter season underway, the introduction of direct flights to Helsinki represents a strategic advancement in expanding Sofia Airport's international connectivity.
