Sofia Markets

Shopping

Go to the markets if you want fresh fruit and vegetables, season wise, or just take delight in the colorful Balkan atmosphere. Be careful – keep an eye on your luggage, for someone may snatch it in the blink of an eye.

Markets feature all kinds of exotic items and are quite often overcrowded. Price levels are modest and you can buy all sorts of articles – practically everything: local produce, souvenirs, clothes, books, priceless antique gems… there is a market for any taste in Sofia. Though they cannot be compared to the malls in style, they are still full of cultural enchantment.
