Sofia Airport Introduces New Official Taxi Pickup Process at Terminal 2

News

Visitors arriving at Sofia Airport will now benefit from a new taxi pickup process designed to make airport transfers safer and more organized. The new system has been introduced at Terminal 2 by Yellow!, the airport’s official taxi operator, with plans to expand it to Terminal 1 at a later stage.

The main goal of the new procedure is to ensure that passengers use licensed Yellow! taxis and to reduce the risk of illegal taxi services operating around the airport.

How the new taxi pickup works

After collecting their luggage and leaving the Arrivals area, passengers should head to the Yellow! desk or one of the self-service kiosks. There, they can request a taxi and receive a printed ticket.

Passengers should then exit through Exit 5, marked with “Taxi” signs, where a Yellow! coordinator will direct them to the next available vehicle.

If a traveler skips the kiosk, there is no need to worry. The coordinator outside can register the taxi request on the spot.

Tips for a safe journey

Yellow! advises passengers to follow the queue managed by its coordinators and to ask for a receipt from the taxi meter at the end of the trip.

The registered booking and the receipt help ensure full trip tracking, making it easier to assist passengers in case of forgotten belongings or other travel-related issues.

The new system is expected to make arrivals at Sofia Airport smoother while giving international visitors greater confidence that they are using an official, licensed taxi service from the moment they land.
